Glow Dance Party & Bar
An all-ages outdoor dance party — complete with glow sticks. Jaci’s BBQ food truck and the Thirsty Goat Bar will be on hand to meet your food and beverage needs.
Artful Ice Shanties Award Ceremony
Gather to celebrate the ice shanty artists and an outdoor Award Ceremony. A panel of judges will present an array of awards for shanties with notably artistic, inventive, or silly qualities.
Intro to Ice Fishing Clinic
Learn the basics if ice fishing on the Retreat Meadows with a free clinic presented by the Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife.
New Year’s Eve fire pit and fireworks
Join us at Retreat Farm, Saturday, December 31st as part of Last Night Brattleboro. Hang by the fire from 8pm to 9:30pm while watching the annual fireworks display over the Retreat Meadows.

Réjean OBomsawin, Abénaki, will speak about life at the Odanak Reserve in Quebec and the elders that inspired him to teach history and return to the old ways of ceremony.

Ice Fishing Derby on the Retreat Meadows
Grab your fishing gear, because the derby is back! Join us on the Meadows for a fun-filled day of ice fishing and prizes. Registration starts at 5:30am.
Beer Garden with fire pit and s’mores

Put your imagination and creativity to work with our Pop-Up Art on the Farm series, Thursday through Sunday of Winter Carnival Week.
Snow Shoe Rentals and Farm Walks
Come wander around Retreat Farm property on Snowshoes. You can bring your own and follow our trails or come and rent a pair for $10. Rentals must be reserved in advance, and can be picked up from the Yellow Farmhouse.
Volunteers Needed for Winter Carnival Week Events!
Help us make our Winter Carnival Week a success! Volunteers are needed Monday through Sunday, February 21- 27, 2-5pm to keep our fire tended and roaring while folks visit the Ice Shanties or join us for our pop-up bar with s’mores. Folks are also needed Mon-Sun mornings to keep the Meadows “ice rink” shoveled for skaters.
Workshop: Snow Snake building
The Atowi Project will be hosting a series of snow snake building workshops in the morning and afternoon on February 12 and 13 to prepare for a snow snake competition at the Brattleboro Retreat Farm on February 27.
Volunteers Needed for Holiday Food Box prep and distribution
Help us prep, pack, or deliver our annual Holiday Food Boxes! Help is needed throughout the week of December 6th in the areas of harvesting, box assembly, food sorting, box packing, distribution, and delivery.
